SUPPORT

LMRM welcomes sponsorships from those who share our mission for celebrating textile-related endeavors. Financial assistance means that we in turn can support our artist-led community programs. Every donation, small or large, is an act of collaboration in the development of LMRM. Please email us to learn more about ways you can enhance our programs.

Your support matters. Thank you.

LET'S CREATE TOGETHER

We are excited to uplift and amplify textile art practices through our work. That said, LMRM is first and foremost a project space that offers rental access to our looms and we have a very limited capacity amongst our 2-person team. Before sending us a query, please read more on how we will assess potential work opportunities according to our mission.

  • LMRM prioritizes the allocation of funding from our annual budget toward paying artists competitively. We are a very small organization, which requires us to be very thoughtful about our funding limitations. We understand that the artists we partner with, who lead ambitious activations of our resources, are the suppliers of impactful programs for organizations at any level. LMRM strives to only participate in projects where all parties—administrators and end-users—are taken care of.

  • Collaboration is an exciting means to combine resources and take our efforts further. Before reaching out about a potential collaboration, we invite you to consider the following prompts:

    • Does this collaboration require financial assistance or waiver from LMRM? At this stage, we are not able to provide assistance beyond our Time Warp credit program. In the past, LMRM has been a partner on grant applications and is happy to supply LOC’s for project pursuits.

    • Does this collaboration require immediate responses due to an urgent timeline? We do not believe an expedited timeline allows for true collaboration. Our mission is about slowing down and thoughtfully exploring the practice of weaving. We encourage reaching out as early as possible for the best chances of collaborating with us.

    • Do you have an idea of how LMRM can specifically contribute toward this collaboration? Clear prompts or starting points will help us navigate whether or not we'll make a good collaborator for you.

    • Do you have a budget? Understanding the scope of the project and how every person involved will be compensated for their expertise and labor helps us measure feasibility.

  • At LMRM, we hope to one day expand our team. Currently, LMRM does not have the funding capacity for this, which includes unpaid internships. While this model is very common in the creative sector, we do not believe that it provides equitable access to professional learning opportunities.

We also believe that the organization providing the teaching experience has to operate from a place of abundance: LMRM’s small team currently does not have the capacity to provide this.

We’re always thrilled to learn about school programs with grants to compensate student participation in internships. Please share with us if your school provides this kind of support, as LMRM will namely be looking to partner with such programs as we build toward an internship model in the future.
