TC2 LOOM AUTHORIZATION - JUNE
Saturday, June 8, 1-4pm
This in-person group training will cover the basics of using the TC2 digital loom at LMRM. The course is designed as an authorization process for independent studio access to our loom. Authorization is required prior to anyone’s first TC2 weaving session.
Led by Cathryn Amidei, TC2 Loom Authorization will ensure that weavers will feel proficient and confident using the equipment at LMRM. Please note that this is NOT an intro lesson on weaving or file-design. If you become authorized to book weaving sessions on our TC2 digital loom, you are expected to work independently.
This access training will cover:
General LMRM studio guidelines and booking process
Navigating the loom and its software
Best practices for fixing errors with the warp
Sample-weaving at the XXL loom width
Walk-through of using end-feed shuttles and winding pirns
Who is this for?
Anyone who wants to weave on our loom! We offer our TC2 loom for daily open studio rentals, so this authorization will help us ensure we can readily accept your future rental requests whenever our calendar is open.
This is also ideal for those who are TC2 weaving-curious to attend as an excellent informational workshop. While LMRM does not currently offer head-to-toe educational classes, we are happy to point you to resources for private lessons to bridge gaps in knowledge.
