WWW TC2 Workshop with Poppy DeltaDawn: The Warp is the Weft: Design Through Doing
Saturday October 5, 3-6 pm
Location: LMRM
2233 S Throop Street Studio #211C, Chicago, IL 60608
In The Warp is the Weft: Design Through Doing, Poppy DeltaDawn will expand upon the design traditions of Mise-en-Carte, or the point paper plan that weavings of 18th century weavers of Lyon worked from to manufacture silk, first with the drawloom and then the mechanical Jacquard loom.
Using the Photoshop canvas, the warp, and the weft, this workshop will cover processes and methodologies DeltaDawn had developed while referencing the publication she is releasing in collaboration with LMRM and artist/designer Katie Williams.
Specifically, participants can look forward to tapping into the infinite possibilities of warp and weft design using digital templates, ratios, and mathematics.
***Course requirements: a laptop and up-to-date Photoshop.
Capacity will be limited to 15 attendees. This event is in-person only. Masking strongly encouraged. Our studio has one air purifier to maintain air quality. The entrance is located on the east side of the building with a front desk where guests can buzz into the building. Please call the Mana Contemporary front desk ahead of time for ramp access to the building's main entry at (312) 850-0555. LMRM is located on the second floor, which is accessible via stairs or staff-operated elevators.
No refunds are available for cancellations or no-shows. If you find yourself unable to attend for any reason, we encourage you to find yourself a replacement and transfer your ticket to someone else who may be able to go instead. In the rare instance of emergencies, we will refund ticket sales should LMRM ever need to cancel a workshop.
